Crusader acquire ISO 9001:2000 award!
Manchester based Crusader, the shop and display equipment specialist who design and manufacture tailor-made retail and point of sale units for leading UK and international companies has just acquired the quality management standard ISO 9001:2000.
Crusader, who has recently also obtained Investors in People (IIP) status and were crowned one of the winners of the National Training Awards held in Liverpool in October, received official notification of their ISO 9001:2000 accreditation in November.
ISO 9001:2000 is the standard against which the Quality Management System of a business is evaluated and can be applied to all companies. The scheme was launched and developed to demonstrate that a business can provide a consistent standard of quality throughout all areas of operation and is a practical method for improving procedures.
Whilst many companies are already operating many of the requirements of the standard, unlike Crusader, they have not registered them and don’t have a robust benchmarking system in place
Steve Turner, director for Crusader said “This is another great achievement for us and tops off a fantastic year of investment and business development at Crusader. Whilst we knew our quality systems were very good, the ISO award provides a tangible seal of approval, which is recognised across Europe. This will prove invaluable as we continue our growth and will enable us to cement our reputation as one of the leading shop and display equipment specialists in the UK”.
Whilst an award of ISO9001 is not unusual across the country, it is less prevalent for creative companies such as Crusader due to the flexible nature of design and the unpredictable issues that can arise. ISO 9001 is a true achievement for a company such as Crusader who are faced daily with unique design and manufacturing challenges.
Crusader Displays Limited has an annual turnover in the region of £3.5M employ 60 staff and boasts a total of nearly 80 years design and manufacturing experience with an impressive list of national and international clients including household names such as Halfords, Boots and Specsavers. |
