A leading UK retail display design company has just designed and produced an innovative display system for presenting garden table tops for a major DIY retailer.
Crusader, the shop and display equipment specialist who design and manufacture tailor made retail and point of sale units for leading UK and international companies has just completed the production of the units which were rolled out nationally to 243 Focus DIY centres in January.
The display units were designed to be floor standing and are able to hold three different sizes of garden tables on each stand. The units are made primarily of steel and have been produced to bring the marketing of garden furniture into the mainstream spotlight. The display stands are three sided and can be fully extended to take and show various sizes of table tops. Each of the 243 stores will initially be supplied with one unit providing a centre piece for the new seasons garden furniture push.
Steve Turner, director for Crusader said “This is the first time we have taken a large product such as garden tables and made a feature out of them. It’s such an easy option to leave large items such as tables on the floor without making a special effort to market them strongly. By taking a new approach and making a feature of them, it attracts customers and lets them know they are the latest products for the coming season. I am sure this approach will make a real impact on their sales over the coming months”.
Crusader was commissioned by Focus DIY to solve the problem of coming up with a solution to effectively display this range of garden tables. Some of the main considerations were to design a system which was eye catching, could form the centre of a display, but was also flexible enough to hold table tops of various sizes. Crusader looked at the many options before providing design solutions and making a fully functional prototype which was fully market tested prior to production.
Crusader currently employs 50 experienced staff with turnover in the region of £2.7m per year. The company will soon be celebrating 40 successful years in business at its current home in Manchester.
